Winemaker Notes
Grapes were fermented in open top stainless vats. After primary ferment the wines underwent full malolactic fermentation in barrels. French, Hungarian and American oak staves were added for 10 months. The wine was blended to produce a rich complex wine.
Viticulture Notes
Marlot was harvested from Ian Smith’s vineyard in Te Karaka. Malbec, Cabernet France, Carmenere, Syrah & Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were harvested from Hihi Wines vineyard in Ormond in excellent condition and good ripeness.
