Classic Chardonnay 2024

Tasting Notes

On the nose, aromas of ripe nectarines and citrus zest are complemented by subtle notes of almond, brioche, and gentle French oak spice.

The palate is layered and textured, showing flavours of nectarine and melon, supported by fine acidity and a soft, creamy mouth feel. Hints of mineral freshness and savoury complexity add depth and length.

Well balanced and elegant, Hihi Classic Chardonnay 2024 finishes clean and persistent, offering both immediate appeal and the structure to develop further with time.

Winemaker Notes

Hihi Chardonnay 2024 is a thoughtfully composed wine from the vineyards of a pioneering Manutuke wine estate in Gisborne. The final blend by Andy Nimmo is drawing on fruit from two distinctive sites to create balance, texture, and regional expression.

This has produced an oak barrel fermented Chardonnay that reflects both place and intent: expressive, refined, and quietly confident.
